yomi sirlin

Yomi is a card game, created by David Sirlin, in which 2 players have a deck of cards which represent thier “team” of fighters in a fighting tournament. As a card is played, the fighter on that card battles against the fighter on the opponent’s side, and whichever player is the first to bring their opponent’s life down to 0 wins.

Yomi was inspired by Super Street Fighter II Turbo, a competitive fighting game, and was designed to distill the high-level mental games from fighting game tournaments into a simple card game, thus allowing it to cater to serious game tournaments. Yomi has won awards for Tim Vasel’s Game of the Year (2010) and Bestcovery Best Card Game (2012), and is still being played today.
